What You’ll Need:
Espresso machine, grinder, tamper, scale, filtered water, 18 grams of coffee, timer, and a cup.
Brewing Instructions:
1. Grind and Dose the Coffee:
Grind 18 grams of coffee directly into your portafilter.
Evenly level the coffee grounds.
Firmly tamp the coffee in the portafilter.
2. Prepare the Machine:
Purge the grouphead to clear any residual water.
Secure the portafilter in the machine.
3. Pull the Shot:
Engage the grouphead and start your timer.
Position a cup under the portafilter.
Extract 36 grams of espresso within 25-30 seconds.
If the extraction is too fast, adjust to a finer grind.
If the extraction is too slow, adjust to a coarser grind.
What You’ll Need:
Pour-over brewer, paper filter, scale, filtered water, medium ground coffee, spoon, timer, and a cup.
Brew Ratio:
1 part Coffee : 16 parts Water
1 Tablespoon = 7 Grams of Coffee
Recipe for 2 Cups: 3.5 Tablespoons of Coffee, & 400 ml of Water
Brewing Time: 2.5-3 Minutes
Brewing Steps:
1. Heat water to 94°C.
2. Measure your coffee.
3. Open a paper filter and place it in the brewer.
4. Rinse the filter thoroughly with hot water to remove any paper taste.
5. Set the brewer on top of your cup or server.
6. Add the coffee grounds to the brewer.
7. Pour just enough water to saturate the coffee grounds.
8. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds.
9. Slowly pour the remaining water in a clockwise motion, starting from the center and moving outward, then back to the center.
10. Continue pouring the rest of the water.
11. Once the dripping stops, remove the brewer from the server.
12. Pour the coffee into your favorite cups and savor the taste.
What You’ll Need:
Moka Pot, filtered water, finely ground coffee, spoon, and a cup.
Brewing Instructions:
1. Fill the bottom chamber of the Moka pot with water, just below the valve.
2. Insert the filter basket into the bottom chamber.
3. Add finely ground coffee to the basket, leveling it with your finger.
4. Screw the top and bottom parts of the Moka pot together, being careful not to over-tighten.
5. Place the Moka pot on the stove over medium heat, leaving the lid open.
6. Once the coffee starts to flow and turns a light brown color, remove the Moka pot from the heat.
7. Cool the bottom of the Moka pot under cold tap water to stop the extraction.
8. Pour the coffee into your favorite cups and enjoy.
What You’ll Need:
French Press, scale, filtered water, kettle, coarse ground coffee, spoon, timer, and a cup.
Brew Ratio:
1 part Coffee : 16 parts Water
1 Tablespoon = 7 Grams of Coffee
Recipe for 1 Cup: 3 Tablespoons of Coffee, & 340 ml of Water
Brewing Time: 5 Minutes
Brewing Steps:
- Heat water to 94°C.
- Measure out your coffee.
- Add the ground coffee to the French press.
- Slowly pour the water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all the coffee is saturated.
- Start a 5-minute timer.
- Gently stir the coffee, being careful not to push the spoon too deep.
- Place the lid on the French press.
- Slowly press the plunger down to the bottom.
- Pour your coffee into your favorite cups and enjoy.
